“IRI’s mission, since its founding by an act of Congress in 1938, has been to improve the management of technological innovation — and IRI has done just that for the past 75 years. As the retired CEO of Lockheed Martin, an IRI member for the past 35 years, I know firsthand the value IRI has provided to corporate America, to the field of innovation leadership, and to the global economy. The contributions IRI has made comprise a rich heritage on which to build for the future.”
After 75 years, IRI has a great deal to celebrate — ground-breaking innovation, thought leadership in technology management and membership unlike any other technical association. To commemorate its Diamond Anniversary and to honor all that IRI and its members have accomplished over the past 75 years, IRI will be hosting a series of special events throughout the year.
The main celebration is the Diamond Jubilee — the largest gathering of top innovation thought leaders from industry, academia and government, creating historic opportunities for learning, sharing, networking and creating unparalleled business partnerships. This May 2013 showcase event will feature thought-provoking sessions on innovation and competiveness, and speakers and panelists from technology leaders across the country, including Robert A. McDonald, president and CEO, Procter & Gamble. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!
The highlights of the Jubilee include three main panel sessions:
- Evolution of Innovation Thought: 75 years of Innovation explores perspectives on innovation in the future from today’s business environment.
- Technology Leadership and Competitiveness brings together well-known technology leaders in industry, government and academia to dialogue on the current state of competitiveness in technological leadership and the challenges of the future we must work together on to solve.
- Frontiers of Innovation discusses the quickly changing landscape of innovation and explores how key trends in society and in manufacturing are impacting innovation today and tomorrow.
